Lady Gaga Crowned Honorary Miss Gay America

by 15h ago Few entertainers are as vocal about LGBT rights as Lady Gaga, and the pop star was just recognized for her equality efforts by being named the first honorary Miss Gay America. Pageant owners Michael Dutzer and Rob Mansman crowned Gaga backstage before her concert in Philadelphia last month, and also presented her with a $5,000 donation to her youth-focused non-profit, the Born This Way Foundation. “We love Gaga for all she’s done for the LGBTQ community,” Dutzer said, “especially our youth, so we thought this would be a great way to honor her for championing self-acceptance, diversity and the beauty in everyone’s mirror.” Miss Gay America began in 1972 as the world’s first female impersonator competition, and the owners let Gaga know that she is the first person to be crowned who doesn’t have a penis.
