Doctor Who TV would like to pay our respects to two former prominent Doctor Who figures who have sadly passed away recently. Paddy Russell (4 July‌ 1928 – 2 November 2017) Classic era director Paddy Russell died aged 89. She was among the earliest female directors at the BBC, and the very first for Doctor Who. Dudley Simpson (4 October 1922 – 4 November 2017) Classic era composer Dudley Simpson died aged 95. Simpson was responsible for over 60 Doctor Who incidental scores between 1964 and 1979, beginning with story Planet of Giants and ending with The Horns of Nimon.
